Who are we?

Pinki Design is owned by Laura Leidlein and started as a way for her to reach out and help others with their design needs. Soon it morphed into more, when she decided to turn her original designs into tangible gift items. This has turned out to be a great creative outlet for Laura and she loves being able to share her designs with the world. On Pinki-Design.com you will find a mix of original work and client work.

The creative bug bit Laura before she could remember, and could usually be found drawing and crafting during her childhood. She pursued design early on, teaching herself how to build websites in middle school and taking as many extra art and design classes as she could in high school. Currently, she lives with her husband Jordan, an SEO Analyst who she met in Photoshop class, and their two dogs in Ferndale (just outside of Detroit). She is a lover of Helvetica, Apple, Tina Fey, Japanese & Korean pop music, and golden retrievers.

If you ask Laura who inspires her, she will tell you that she takes inspiration from the amazing creative people she has met along her design journey. People such as Christopher Gorski of DetroitGT, Kai-Ling Su of Wei’s Open Secret, the girls of Handmade Detroit, Bryan & Jennifer Veloso of Revyver and so many others. She has always felt destined to do something epic in a creative aspect, and is always pushing towards whatever that may be. She hopes surrounding herself with epic people will help that goal.

At Pinki Design, we consider ourselves lucky to be able to do what we love, and we believe in giving back to those who may not be so lucky in life. We have made donations of services or products to many great local charities and events including Angels of Hope Michigan, The Michelle Horback Palgut Memorial Fund, Take Back the Night Ann Arbor, Michigan Animal Rescue League, Ozone House, and more.
